Anuria.
Known hypersensitivity to chlorthalidone or other sulfonamide-derived drugs.

Chlorthalidone, a 'water pill', is prescribed to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention caused by various conditions, including heart disease. It causes the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into the urine.
A benzenesulfonamide-phthalimidine that tautomerizes to a benzophenones form. It is considered a thiazide-like diuretic.
How should Chlorthalidone be used?
Chlorthalidone comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It usually is taken once a day or every other day after a meal, preferably breakfast. It is best to take Chlorthalidone in the morning to avoid going to the bathroom during the night.
Chlorthalidone controls high blood pressure but does not cure it.
Chlorthalidone, a monosulfonamyl diuretic, differs form other thiazide diuretics in that a double ring system is incorporated into its structure. Chlorthalidone is used alone or with atenolol in the management of hypertension and edema.
Chlorthalidone side effects.

- dizziness;
- hair loss;
- headache;
- loss of appetite;
- muscle weakness;
- severe skin rash with peeling skin;
- sore throat with fever;
- stomach pain;
- thirst;
- unusual bleeding or bruising;
- upset stomach;
- vomiting;
